Personal Financial Information You'll Need
A helpful list of information you will need to bring
along when making credit, mortgage and insurance arrangements
for your new home.
Charge Accounts
Name and addresses of firms which extend credit
to you and amounts owed and account numbers.
Automobile and Boats
Make and year of models, amounts owed if any, lender's
names and addresses, approximate value.
Insurance
Names and addresses of life insurance, car insurance
and home insurance companies, face value of policies
and premiums.
Home Ownership and Other Real Estate
Facts about homes you own or other real estate you own,
including present value, location, present equity, amount
owed, mortgage holder and account number.
Other Income
Sources of income other than your regular salary, i.e.
if overtime amounts to a substantial part of gross income
provide W-2s for the last two years.
Self-Employed
If you are self-employed, tax returns for the last two
years will be required, plus profit and loss statements
and balance sheets for the past two years.
Debts
A list of any debts you have which will take more than
seven months from now to pay off the balance . On such
items, the name of the creditor, the address, your account
number(s), the monthly payment and an approximate balance
is usually required.
Remember also, if you are going to be looking for a
home, be prepared to give a binder or earnest money
deposit. When you find a home you really like you will
want to take it off the market. You will show good faith
to the seller by placing the binder in an escrow account.
